Our Name

The Tibetan word Palpung consists of pal“ which is translated as glorious and/or radiant and pung“, meaning accumulation or gathering.

In its entirety the notion describes the glorious accumulation of the best talents in various fields: meditation, knowledge, art, etc; the glorious union of study and practice: Mount of Excellence.

Yeshe means primordial wisdom.

Chökhor consists of two Tibetan words – “chö”, dharma and “khor”, wheel. Combined, they mean the turning of the wheel of dharma.

Ling, finally is the place where the pure lineage of all methods and paths is being transmitted.

Chöje Lama Palmo once translated it freely into „Glorious Wisdom Abode“.
