About us
Palpung Yeshe Chökhor Ling Europe was initiated as Kagyu Thubten Chöling by H. E. 12th Kuanding Tai Situ Rinpoche in 1997, established by Lama Palmo and is under her direction.
Palpung Yeshe Chökhor Ling Europe is a spiritual home for all those who want to come to know as well as meditate and practice the Buddhist teachings of the pure unbroken lineage of loving kindness and compassion for all sentient beings in order to follow the examples of our great enlightened masters such as Marpa Lotsawa, Milarepa, Je Gampopa and the successive incarnations of H. H. Karmapa.
Our activities evolve out of a forum in which spiritual life in its completeness with its various aspects can be practiced, a place with space for national and international interreligious as well as intercultural exchange, a place where peace within ourselves for all sentient beings shall be cultivated.
Palpung Yeshe Chökhor Ling Europe together with all its activities is dedicated to the development of peace which starts within and with ourselves, hence radiating to all sentient beings. It is our contribution to World Peace.
Currently, the main project operates from Purkersdorf and procures all its own branches from there. Read more details about our various projects: a house near Vienna and a project in the countryside.
After returning from the traditional three-year-retreat in 2004 Lama Palmo met with His Eminence in India and was hence sent to Japan by Rinpoche. After her stay there she was sent back to Austria.
In private audiences in 2006 she requested and received blessing and advise for the project from H. H. Dalai Lama as well as from H. H. Gyalwang Karmapa in Gyuto.
In 2007 Chamgon Situ Rinpoche renamed the center into Palpung Yeshe Chökhor Ling Europe, appointed Lama Palmo resident teacher and gave further instruction for the center. June 5th, 2007 we became member of the Austrian Buddhist Religious Society, ÖBR.
We are an independent, direct branch of the Palpung congregation of H. E. Chamgon Kuanding Tai Situ Rinpoche.
Lama Palmo teaches regularly and additionally we invite authentic lamas of the lineage to teach the pure Buddhadharma.
