The methods are manifold and also differ in the <b>Three Yanas<\/b> of the Buddhadharma, all stemming from Buddha himself.<\/p>\n<p>The aim of the <strong>Hinayana<\/strong> is to attain<strong> liberation for oneself<\/strong> from suffering while the <strong>Mahayana<\/strong> and <strong>Vajrayana<\/strong> base on the <a href=\"\/en\/visit\/calendar\/pilgrimages\/pilgrimage-2009\/audience-guru-vajradhara\/\"><b>firm resolution<\/b><\/a> of the practitioner to take all beings as their family, hence taking the <strong>vow to actually lead all the new family members to final enlightenment<\/strong>, not giving up until this aim will be attained.<\/p>\n<p>The basis for Mahayana is the Hinayana, and the basis for Vajryana arr both Hinayana and Mahayana together, paired with the special methods and particular view of the Vajrayana.<\/p>\n<p>There are manifold meditations. They can generally be divided into the <strong>path of liberation<\/strong> (<em>Mind-series<\/em>) and the<strong> path of means and methods<\/strong> (<em>wisdom-series<\/em>).
