In her worldly life she worked in the media as a journalist, PR manager and photographer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">At 20, she connected with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/about-us\/buddhadharma\/\">Buddhadharma<\/a> and renounced worldly life, divorcing at the age of 27. She received the monastic vows of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/practising-buddhism\/monastic-life\/getsuel-ma\/\"><b>getsulma<\/b><\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/about-us\/chamgon-kenting-tai-situ-rinpoche\/\"><strong>Guru Vajradhara <\/strong><strong>H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa,<\/strong> <\/a>and in 2004 the full ordination of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/practising-buddhism\/monastic-life\/gelong-ma\/\"><b>gelongma<\/b><\/a>\u00a0 (Skr. Bikshuni) from a Mahayana lineage after completing the traditional Karma Kamtsang three years\u2019 retreat, which she underwent in\u00a0 Karma Triyana Dharmachakra under Ven. H. H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa <\/strong>appointed her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/appointment_en.pdf\"><b>Ch\u00f6je Lama<\/b> twice: the first time in 2013<\/a> when she was the first Western lama \u2014 and woman \u2014 to receive this title in a letter.\u00a0 In In <strong>2014<\/strong>, she received the second, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/choeje_2014_en.pdf\">traditional Ch\u00f6je Lama appointment<\/a> from Guru Vajradhara in silk, bearing the <strong>seal of H.H. The 1st and 8th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.<\/strong> She was the first lama ever to receive this title on silk from Guru Vajradhara H. H. 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.<\/p>\n<p>Guru Vajradhara bestowed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/letter-of-inspiraton-en.pdf\">blessing letter<\/a> and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/mediacenter\/chamgon-kenting-tai-situpa\/videos\/video-blessing-for-palpung-europe\/\">blessing video<\/a> on her, too explaining her project. She established <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/about-us\/\"><b>Palpung Europe <\/b><\/a>with its <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/visit\/our-institutes\/\">institutes<\/a><\/strong> and serves as Head Lama of The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/en\/about-us\/\">European Seat of The Palpung lineage\u00a0<\/a>and Director of Palpung Europe. A studied linguist, she has coined many new terms in Dharma translation. She is also the official German-language translator for Guru Vajradhara H.H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa, has authored two books of her own with two more in progress, and continues to contribute in countless other ways.<\/p>\n<p>Ch\u00f6je Lama Palmo was diagnosed with terminal cancer in September 2020, received emergency surgery, chemo and purely survived through the blessing of her Guru, His Holiness Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa.
