Chokyi Gyaltsen (1377 \u2013 1448)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Chokyi Gyaltsen was born in the surroundings of Tara Gon. He was one of the main disciples of\u00a0Dezhin Shegpa\u00a0from whom he received all the transmissions and teachings of\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/\"><b>Kagyu<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>lineage. Chokyi Gyaltsen was the first in the lineage who had been conferred with the title Chamgon Kenting Tai Situp Rinpoche, \u201cFar reaching, unshakable, great master, holder of the command\u201d\u00a0 by the Chinese emperor of Ming dynasty. He spent most of his life in meditation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4237\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"234\" \/>2. Tashi Namgyal (1450 \u2013 1497)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Tashi Namgyal was enthroned by the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">6th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> who discovered him and conferred on him the complete transmission. He became one of the main teachers of the seventh incarnation of <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-left\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4239\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"235\" \/>3. Tashi Paljor (1498 \u2013 1541)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">was recognized by the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">7th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>, was enthroned by him and received the complete <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/\">Kagyu<\/a> <\/strong>transmission from him, perfecting it. He recognized the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">8th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> and became his main teacher.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b>4. Chokyi Gocha (1542 \u2013 1585)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4241\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"234\" \/><\/b>Chokyi Gocha continued his predecessor\u2019s work at Karma Gon and other monasteries in Eastern Tibet. He was enthroned by the <a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\"><strong>8th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/strong><\/a> from whom he received all the transmissions. In return Chokyi Gocha recognized the <a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\"><strong>9th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-left\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4243\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"175\" height=\"236\" \/>5. Chokyi Gyaltsen Palzang (1586 \u2013 1657)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">He was formally recognized by the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">9th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>, enthroned and received from him the complete transmissions. The <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">9th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> acknowledged the spiritual mastery of the Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoches and bestowed the Red Crown upon him, comparable to his Black Crown, to express their same level of accomplishment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4245\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"223\" \/>6. Mipham Chogyal Rabten (1658 \u2013 1682)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Mipham Chogyal Rabten was recognized and enthroned by the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">tenth Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> from whom he received the complete <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/\">lineage<\/a><\/strong> transmission. He spent some time in Tsurphu and Karma Gon in order to study, was a great Sanskrit scholar, astrologer, doctor, painter and composer of religious treatises.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-left\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4247\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"179\" height=\"201\" \/>7. Mawe Nyima (1683 \u2013 1698)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">He was recognized immediately after his birth and admitted to a Sakya college. Unfortunately he passed away at a very early age, having only received the essence of the teachings.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4249\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-8.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"239\" \/>8. Chokyi Jungne (1700 \u2013 1774)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Chokyi Jungne was the probably the\u00a0 most well known incarnation within the lineage of the Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoches. Recognized by the tenth Shamar Tulku, he was brought to\u00a0Tsurphu<b>\u00a0<\/b>where he was also enthroned. He was one of the most outstanding scholars of his time and author of many important texts. His extensive grammar of Tibetan language is one of the most advanced texts in practical use today. He taught in Sanskrit, Chinese and Nepali and was known for his spiritual ability to foresee the future. He was the teacher of the\u00a0<a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\"><strong>13th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and of many others. But he was also a gifted doctor, astrologer, poet and artist who developed a new style of thangka painting. Since his students went on to excel in these various fields from that time on,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.org\/english\/monastery\/palpung\/briefin.htm\"><b>Palpung<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>became an important center of learning, art, meditation, ritual\u00a0and culture and the mother monastery for <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/\">Karma Kagyu<\/a><\/strong> in Eastern Tibet. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche traveled extensively. When he passed away, his heart region was found warm for seven days afterwards.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-left\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4251\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"258\" \/>9. Pema Nyinje Wangpo (1774 \u2013 1853)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">He continued with Chokyi Jungne\u2019s work. At the age of five he was officially enthroned and received the complete transmissions from the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">13th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and 10th Shamarpa. One of his main students was the first\u00a0Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye. Pema Nyinje Wangpo became the main teacher of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">14th Gyalwa\u00a0Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and was closely connected with the great visionary\u00a0<b>Chogyur Lingpa<\/b>. The last thirty years of his life he spent in retreat. When he left his body, the sky was filled with rainbows and many other auspicious signs were witnessed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4253\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-10.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"236\" \/>10. Pema Kunzang (1854 \u2013 1885)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Pema Kunzang was discovered and enthroned by the student of his former incarnation, the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">14th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>, together with Jamgon Lodro Thaye. He spent his short life as yogi and by the power of his extraordinary meditative powers left his footprints on rocks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-left\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4255\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-11.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"178\" height=\"242\" \/>11. Pema Wangchug Gyalpo (1886 \u2013 1952)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">He was enthroned at the age of four years by the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">15th Gyalwa\u00a0Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>. At this time\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.org\/english\/monastery\/palpung\/briefin.htm\"><b>Palpung<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>was already known everywhere as the center for spiritual, scholarly and artistic excellence and authority. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche received all transmissions from Khakyab Dorje and Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche, traveled a lot to refine the discipline and conduct in all 180 monasteries under his care. He became the main teacher of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"trenner\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic csc-textpic-intext-right\">\n<div class=\"csc-textpic-text\">\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><b><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4257\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-12.png 200w, https:\/\/www.palpung.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Tai-Situ-Rinpoche-12-36x36.png 36w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>12. Pema Donyo Nyinje Wangpo<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Pema Donyo Nyinje was born in Dege, Eastern Tibet. His birth was accompanied by many auspicious signs. When the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0together with the fourteenth Dalai Lama visited Beijing, he became aware of the birth of his heart son thus enabling the accurate recognition. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situ Rinpoche was enthroned at the age of eighteen months at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.org\/english\/monastery\/palpung\/briefin.htm\"><b>Palpung<\/b>\u00a0<\/a>monastery and recognized all the old servants of his previous incarnation. In 1959, due to the Chinese invasion, he was forced to leave his country and arrived in Bhutan. Finally he moved to Rumtek where he received the complete transmissions from the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">16th Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> until 1975. With the blessings of\u00a0<strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong>, at the age of twenty-two he established his first monastic project and founded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.palpung.org\/english\/monastery\/sherabling\/brief.htm\"><b>Palpung Sherab Ling<\/b><\/a>\u00a0in Himachal Pradesh, North India which houses relics of the Guru Vajradhara H. H. 8th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa in a seperate stupa temple. As a Buddhist teacher, Guru Vajradhara H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa regularly tours the world giving teachings and empowerments at the request of dharma centers: in <strong>1981<\/strong> Guru Vajradhara H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa went on tour throughout <strong>Europe<\/strong> and visited <strong>America<\/strong> in <strong>1982<\/strong>. Since then, Guru Vajradhara H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa has traveled extensively in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. These teachings are collected and published in nine books till now. In <strong>1984<\/strong> for the first time, he returned to <strong>Tibet<\/strong> and in <strong>1991<\/strong> spent three months in <strong>Palpung<\/strong>, East Tibet. <strong>1989<\/strong> Guru Vajradhara H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa went on pilgrimage for World Peace. In <strong>1992<\/strong> he recognized the <a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\"><strong>17th incarnation of Gyalwang Karmapa<\/strong><\/a> and enthroned Gyalwang Karmapa in Tsurphu. Guru Vajradhara H. H. Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa is the main Guru of the <strong><a href=\"\/en\/about-us\/lineage\/vajrayana\/karma-kagyu\/gyalwang-karmapa\/the-17-gyalwang-karmapas\/\">seventeenth Gyalwang Karmapa<\/a><\/strong> for Mahamudra and training in turn the next generation of Buddhist masters. He is actively involved in the advancement of inter-faith and -cultural humanitarian efforts and is a master scholar, poet, artist, calligrapher, architect, geomancer and philosoph. His art work was collected and published in four books so far. Guru Vajradhara H. H.
