Palpung Yeshe Chökhor Ling Europe is a direct, independent branch of the Palpung congregation of H. E. Situ Rinpoche, established and directed by Lama Palmo. Our project with all its activities is dedicated to the development of peace starting within ourselves to further reach out to all sentient beings, it is our contribution to World Peace. Our concern is meditation according to the Kagyu transmission, spiritual life in its completeness with its various aspects, monastic education and living, cultural and interreligious exchange as well as health. Our parent monastery is Palpung Sherab Ling in Himachal Pradesh, India.

In the course of the years since our initial founding we received letters for our center from H. H. Gyalwang Karmapa (see right), H. E. Kuanding Tai Situ Rinpoche, H. E. Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche as well as the Labrang of H. E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. These, as well as those for Lama Palmo are available with us and may be viewed any time.

On March 8th 2006, Lama Palmo met with H. H. 14th Dalai Lama in a private audience in Dharamsala during the course of which she discussed the project with His Holiness and requested his blessing. His Holiness conferred advise, blessing and presented Lama Palmo with a big statue of Buddha Shakyamuni at the end of the audience, „for your institution“. The very same day she also met with H. H. 17th Gyalwang Karmapa who also bestowed his blessing and encouragement for the project.

In 2010 we bought a house in Purkersdorf near Vienna (please view photos of its adaptation in our gallery) which will serve as our main center for as long as our main project, the monastery and retreat facilities have not yet been realized. The main center procures all its own branches from there.
