Lama Palmo's vision
Lama Palmo's vision is to live all aspects of spiritual life in one place: monastics, lay people, families, short- and longterm retreatants. It shall also contain space for interreligious and intercultural exchange. Phase 1 is dedicated to acquiring land, suitable for all our projects. The most important parts comprise:
Monastery
Owing to experience of the last decades in Europe, Asia and USA it is observable that individuals would like to take up monastic life but cease to do so in lack of facilities. This is particularly true for women.
Stupas
Stupas contain relics, sacred texts and more and symbolise bodhicitta, buddha's awakened heart. They represent the profound aspects of enlightened continuum. We want to construct a big stupa as well as eight smaller in commemoration of eight important stations of Buddha Shakyamuni's life.
Retreat cabins
Cabins for individual retreats for short as well as longterm retreats shall grow into an open assembly of huts, also suitable for longlife retreats.
Three-year-retreat
Isolated from the other aspects of the projects, two houses for the traditional Kamtsang Kagyu three-year-retreat are planned.
Apartment-sharing community
We want to reserve one wing of an extra building for an apartment-sharing community, suitable for families and singles alike. If you are interested please contact us, your wishes can be incorporated into the planning.
Interreligious- and cultural center
The interreligious center is planned as a very bright, lightflooded round building, open for the open dialogue and the coming-together of different religions and cultures.
Secondary projects
Lama Palmo's vision includes wide ranging secondary projects such as multimedia publications, columbarium, hospice, etc and divers other aspects of communal life.
